The identity of 72 victims, killed in the recent uprising against dictatorship and religious regime in Iran has been published.
These names were given to different organizations by some human right activists, and Norooz site also released them recently. This list only contains the name of those whose death has officially been recognized, and their bodies have been returned to their families. There are reports about tens of other bodies, who were killed in the large uprising in Tehran, on June 20th, either secretly buried, or still at the morgues
This list only contains those who died in Tehran, and does not include the death poll in other cities. Tens of people in other cities also died by gunfire or by individual shooters.

- In this list, 12 are women and 60 are men. Almost all of them were killed by gunfire or individual shooters in the streets.

- The names of some martyrs, whose death has just recently been made official, like Saeede Pouraghayee, are not included in this list.

- Reports say that some of the detainees who were under horrifying torture in Kahrizak and other secret prisons, also died, and their bodies have not yet been returned to their families, or some fake death licenses have been made for them, stating that they died in car accidents or under medical surgeries. Their families have been threatened and were ordered to remain silent.
