United for Peace and Justice Historic Day of Anti-War Protests Worldwide.
From Egypt to Washington DC, hundreds of thousands of people flood the streets on January 18th to say "NO" to the Bush Administration's proposed war on Iraq. The United States saw its largest protests since the Vietnam War era, easily doubling the number who turned out for the October 26th anti-war rallies. Despite subzero temperatures, an estimated 300-500,000 came out in Washington DC, while the San Francisco rally drew an estimated 150,000-200,000. Additional anti-war actions took place around the nation and globe.
