UPDATE: UN: Traditional values resolution deferred

WLUML Networkers Faced with a significant lack of consensus around its “traditional values” resolution, Russia announced that there were “still issues to be addressed” and that the resolution would not be presented for a vote, but deferred until the September session.
With the traditional values resolution deferred, a strong panel on sexual orientation and gender identity last Friday, significant support from the High Commissioner for Human Rights, numerous sexual orientation and gender identity references in the UPR reports adopted last week, and strong texts on maternal mortality and violence against women, human rights activists are celebrating the conclusion of a very successful session of the Human Rights Council.
