An educator in Saudi Arabia is coming up with a book that seeks to correct false notions of women's roles in their society and how these notions are being upheld by a misinterpretation of the Qur'an, the holy book of Islam.
The brainchild of Dr. Ali Abdul Aziz Al-Abdul Kader, the project involves a two-volume book collection in Arabic entitled Women's Advancement in Saudi Arabia: Its Components, Dimensions and Results - A Study in Social History. The collection, which features the lives and works of 27 Saudi Arabian women achievers, is now in the final stages of editing and is due to go to the press soon.
