Comité de Lutte Contre les Violences faites aux Femmes et aux Enfants (CLVF) (Committee for the Prevention of Violence Against Women and Children)

The Committee’s aim is to eradicate all forms of violence against women and children (sexual, physical, moral, forced and early marriages, trafficking, sexual exploitaion, etc.). They also work to support women and children victions of violence (through their own counselling centre), as well as monitor that laws are enforced. They hold informative talks and training seminars, as well as annual/bi-annual conferences with, for example, priests, Islamic scholars, sociologists, and laywers. The Committee is a member of the steering committee for the establishment of a National Action Plan for the Fight against Trafficking in Persons in Senegal, and have a National Awareness Campaign on “sexual violence: rape and pedophilia” in Dakar, Thie, Saint-Louis, Kaolack, Mbour and Diourbel.
